Nutrition is a very important part of your care. There are many diets listed from multiple resources for patients with ALS. The best recommendation is to discuss with your care team, that includes a Speech-Language Pathologist and a Dietitian, for your dietary concerns and have a plan developed that is consistent with the progression of your disease.
The ALS Association has developed a document entitled “Maintaining good nutrition with ALS”.
This booklet was written to help people with ALS overcome eating obstacles. It discusses the importance of nutrition and makes suggestions for dealing with various chewing and swallowing issues. The booklet should be used as a guide to supplement the advice of a physician, nurse or dietitian. https://www.als.org/sites/default/files/2020-04/Maintaining%20good%20nutrition%20with%20ALS.pdf
